In 2010 I rode parts of the TAT while in Colorado on a dual sport bike (Suzuki DR650) and all of what I rode can be done in a 4WD. The off-road options out there for both motorcycling and 4-wheeling are endless - when I look now at the gravel roads and mud-holes of Alabama it all looks boring.

As those roads close, get paved, the gates get locked, etc., the route changes.
